Recent Beauty Purchases & Favorites

Another weekend has come and gone! We’re mid-January already, how crazy is that? Valentine’s Day is around the corner and so is New York Fashion Week. Are any of you thinking of attending? Let me know if you are! I haven’t planned anything yet for NYFW and not sure if I’ll be attending – but if you are, would love to meet up with my blogger buddies.

Anyways, I’d thought I do a roundup of my recent beauty purchases and favorites.  I’m not a huge makeup addict, but recently have explored outside of my comfort zone.  I was already super minimal with what I put on my face on an everyday basis.  But I have always admired those bloggers that know exactly what they’re doing and they look so fabulous!

This Urban Decay NAKED eyeshadow palette has to be the best thing I’ve purchased.  I never really applied eyeshadow unless I was attending a wedding or special occasion. But I’m loving the neutral bronze palette – makes it perfect for everyday as well as nights out. It has lots of textures like matte, satin, shimmer & sparkle. I bought it a few months back and always find a color that goes with what I’m wearing.

Another favorite purchase is this NARS Illuminator. I use the color ‘Orgasm.’ This is a total game changer especially for someone like me who isn’t big on makeup.  Once you apply some just above your cheekbone, it adds a nice shimmer, above your bronzer and blush.

After I apply the illuminator, I apply a highlighter by Becca. I use the ‘Moonstone’ shade.  It is cream based so when applied to your skin, it’s super easy and smooth. It really accentuates your face because of the shiny and creamy finish.  P.S. – I apply both the highlighter and illuminator with this beauty blender.  I literally swear by this because it makes all makeup (and all the layers you put on) actually blend and sit smoothly – rather than seeing ugly streaks. I make it damp a little before use – definitely works better.

The last beauty item pictured above is the Nars Mini Blush & Bronzer Duo.  I have both the blush in the ‘Orgasm’ shade and bronzer in the ‘Laguna’, but this duo is perfect for on-the-go. The less I carry – of course, the better!

In case you’re looking for a new cosmetic bag, I have the Tory Burch Robinson one, but this one is currently on sale and fits a lot more! Oh yes, and this YSL ‘Mon Paris’ perfume is THE BEST. I received it when Alex & I went to a YSL event last year and I put all my other perfumes to the side. The smell is really amazing and I’m super picky when it comes to perfume.

I know today’s post is a little different than my usual outfit posts, I hope you enjoyed it!
